The Central New York Region (which includes Madison County) contributes $1.7 billion in tourism business supporting 32,000 jobs. Visitors spent nearly $81 million in Madison County in 2014.

Natural and historical tourist attractions are supplemented with destinations that have been cultivated in Madison County and surrounding areas, such as the Annual Madison Bouckville Outdoor Antique Show, the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum, and many cultural attractions. The National Parks System promotes both the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the Gerrit Smith Estate in the County.

The Oneida Indian Nation has a rich cultural influence throughout Central New York. The Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, offers gaming, entertainment, lodging, along with its PGA Tour golf courses.
