Canastota Business Incubator, located in the Canastota Business Park, is an incubator for business startups featuring high speed internet access, separate air conditioned office space, research and development space, and light manufacturing space,
SATOP (Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program) is a cooperative program between the states of Florida, New Mexico, New York, and Texas. SATOP gives free technology assistance to small businesses, helping them solve their problems and guiding them on the path to success using the technical expertise derived from the space program.
- Made up of an Alliance of more than 45 companies, universities, colleges, and NASA centers, SATOP finds professionals within these companies who volunteer their time and talent in solving the challenges brought forth by the inquiring businesses.
- Participating businesses are eligible to receive up to 40 hours of free technical assistance, with a goal of measurable results within 90 days.SCORE (Senior Corps of Retired Executives) Members are available to counsel and mentor small business clients. SCORE also offers specialized services, such as workshops, seminar presentations, computer and Web site assistance.
CNYTDO (Central New York Technology Development Office) CNYTDO works directly with technology and manufacturing companies to develop successful business strategies, implement state of the art technologies, assist in the transfer of university-developed technologies, and smooth the transition from start-ups to mature organizations.
Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center is housed at the State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNYIT). Here, businesses can access free advisement to help them achieve success, or direction if starting up a new business.

- The Small Business Development Center also offers a range of management and technical services.
Since its start in 1986, the expert advisors of the Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center have worked directly with 10,905 businesses, helping them to invest $175,141,862 in the area’s economy, which have created or saved 6,132 jobs.
The Onondaga County SBDC is also tasked with servicing businesses in western Madison County.
